Glass Sand
Glass is an inert material, which means it does not naturally decompose in landfill environments, leading to the unnecessary occupation of limited landfill space when glass bottles are carelessly discarded. Nevertheless, glass neither pollutes the environment nor poses a risk to human health, making it exceptionally suited for repeated recycling and reuse. Recycled glass bottles are transported to processing facilities where they are crushed into specific-sized fragments of recycled raw material. These can be repurposed into new glass bottles or other glass products, or they can substitute natural materials like river sand in the manufacturing of eco-friendly building materials. This practice of converting waste into resources reduces the demand for natural resource extraction, decreases energy consumption and carbon emissions, and contributes to the development of a local circular economy.
